It was a big cup when it arrived, but the colour of the concoction – sans latte art – took me back to Perth, so I dove in eagerly… and emerged burnt and disappointed.

Newton Dee Café
Only upon arrival I realised it was a community centre… I wasn’t deterred, however (although I did adjust my taste expectations) because the place had a charming feel about it – reminding me of summer camp retreat…
Cafe Moyo
I’m pretty sure my eyes shone when I picked up the earthenware cup – the look of the drink… gave me a very good feeling. Not as good as the first sip though – nor the subsequent ones, for that matter.

I liked their website which indicated a hip and trendy spot – not something I grew accustomed to around George Street but it’s been a while and things might have changed.
I did a double take when Google Maps took me to a church…
Third Circle Coffee
Following the very enjoyable visit to the nearby Fearless Coffee, I took a long walk before reaching Third Circle Coffee – my original destination on that particular cafe exploration of Rosemount… The minimalistic decor gave off a hipster vibe (which tends to correlate with good barista skills, but I have not done a study on that!), albeit the strangely intense techno-style music* chinked that perception somewhat.
Fearless Coffee
I decided on a longer circuit around Rosemount and surrounding shopping areas; and so, my chosen route took in another cafe I had never heard of, mere 250 yards from my prime destination, called Fearless Coffee – and here is where I went first.
