In Part 1, we covered the theory behind latte art and how to set yourself up for success. You don’t need fancy equipment – but you do need the right foundations. Whole milk will make things easier to start with, but with the right technique (and a bit of patience), you can get there with any choice of “the white stuff”.
The magic of Latte Art – and the science behind it
I don’t own a fancy setup, not even a bean-to-cup machine. My tool of choice is an old pod-powered Nespresso Maestria. And yet, that’s more than enough to create show-stopping results (even if the show is just your own kitchen).
In this two-part series, I’ll show you how.
Töst
A couple of people had approached me recently, excitedly asking: “Have you been to the new place yet?” – which made me instantly share in that excitement… Sadly, it didn’t take long to discover that this one came at the expense of another – the Milk Jug did not make it.
Turquoise Cafe & Eatery
Indeed, the cakes on display were a feast for the eyes: the portions were huge but beautifully executed, each presented on its own glass domed tray – and that’s how they were served to the table, as I soon discovered.
Grounded
I had been sort of paying attention on my way down from South Mount Street but obviously not well enough – “or he was pulling my leg”, I thought, confirming my suspicion that, surely, there cannot be yet another great coffee shop in Rosemount?!
Fable
Speaking of religion at the dinner table can be risky, but bear with me in this review, as it puts my next coffee venture in context.
