Perth Cafés

The trip to Perth I referenced in the Flat White post was truly a whirlwind one: I spent less than 6 days in the Western Australian city, and this being a business trip, I had minimal time for extra-curricular activities. I knew I had to be strategic with my coffee scene education.

Resting Brunch Face

When my mocha arrived, it was clear these guys weren’t just brunch obsessed – the skilful latte art attested to coffee credentials. I noted, however, that despite the crisp rosette shape, the milk top looked a bit fluffy, rather than a silky surface indicating a smooth texture.

Flat White

I was at the airport, readying to board my first ever flight to Australia. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I noticed Google’s doodle for that day: a coffee cup with an artistic milk pattern on top – the Flat White!
It was meant to be…

Mount Cafe

My coffee arrived some 5min later and it was a joy to behold. Based on my experience so far I was all but certain it would be perfect – and it did not disappoint.

Figment Coffee

I was doubtful there would be any decent places to stop at after 3pm on an early-January Sunday… and then I remembered about Figment Coffee, mentioned just the other day at work.

Pot Kettle Black

The decor is right up my street, with plenty of wood, funky lighting, and a mix and match of seats and tables offering lots of room for all types of drinkers – and eaters. Indeed, not only coffee is served at the Pot, but also sandwiches, cakes and even cocktails at evening functions.
