Gaelic Lane Café + Studio
I did a double-take when I crossed the threshold this time, as a man was passionately playing a piano, making me wonder if I stumbled on a private event. Quick glance around the rather extensive, basement-hang-out-like venue confirmed everyone was pretty relaxed and in their own conversations, so I progressed to the counter at the far end to make an order.
Aberdeen Art Gallery
I will leave you to explore and comment on the contents of the gallery at your leisure and focus on the more prosaic aspect of my visit. There are two cafes: one on the ground floor, right by the entrance, and another on the top floor, with access to the terrace opening up to a somewhat obstructed skyline of Aberdeen’s city centre. I think you know which one I went for.
