Faced with the prospect of ending up at one of the high street chains – since time constraints forced me and my companion that day to agree a location on Aberdeen’s Union Street – The Monkey House suddenly became a somewhat desirable location.

Symposium Coffee House
It’s been a long time coming as Symposium closes the pending trio of George Street cafes – at least the ones distinct enough to catch my eye and make me want to visit.
Malmaison
An hour later the party departed, but since I had a few emails to respond to and some work to file asap I bid my goodbyes and sat down in the hotel’s bar area. The internet was unbelievably slow, but I decided to make the most of the waiting time this time and ordered – yes – a mocha.
His Majesty’s Theatre cafe
Upon my arrival at the HMT I learnt, however, that the tour that I was meant to be doing was actually starting half an hour later – which gave me plenty of time to sit down at the theatre’s cafe and have a cup of coffee.
Camera Cafe
I figured that was a cue for me to have a one last go at finding a new cafe in London to review – but this time I made sure to do some research on my phone and quickly learnt the museum is surrounded by cool-looking venues. Out of those I decided to go for Camera Cafe.
And now for something a little bit different
… one cold market day I felt like I would do with a hot beverage in between shopping without breaking my already stretched budget I decided to ignore Starbucks and Cafe Nero and bravely entered the Fast Food World.
